mmesomma-disappearance-okada-rider-investigation.

The disappearance of Mmesomma reportedly took a dramatic turn after an okada rider recognised her in a social media post and told investigators he had dropped her off outside her boyfriend Chima Ofoke’s house on the day she went missing.
According to an account narrated about the case, Chima initially denied knowing what had happened to his girlfriend, Mmesomma, whose disappearance prompted a search and a police investigation.
The account describes how conversations with local security officials, information from an okada rider and items reportedly recovered during a search helped investigators pursue new leads.
However, the details presented here are based on the narrator’s account and have not been independently verified by Avid Reporters.
Chima Ofoke Reportedly Reported His Girlfriend Missing
According to the account, Chima initially discussed Mmesomma’s disappearance with a friend at Orie Uga.
He reportedly claimed that he had heard Mmesomma was connected to the alleged theft of gold worth approximately ₦18 million in Edo State. He also suggested that people searching for her might have kidnapped her.
Chima subsequently approached a local security commander to report her disappearance and indicated that he intended to report the matter to the police.
The commander reportedly questioned Chima about whether Mmesomma’s mother had accused him of knowing anything about her daughter’s whereabouts. Chima allegedly answered that she had not.
The account states that the commander became suspicious and contacted the police, who reportedly detained Chima after taking his statement while investigations continued.
At that stage, Mmesomma had not been confirmed dead, and the matter was still being treated as a missing-person case.
How an Okada Rider Recognised Mmesomma
A significant lead reportedly emerged when an okada rider recognised Mmesomma in a Facebook post seeking information about her disappearance.
According to the narrator, the rider remembered transporting her on the Friday she went missing. He said he had dropped her off in front of Chima’s house.
The rider reportedly explained that he did not know which room she intended to enter or whom she planned to meet.
Before leaving, however, Mmesomma allegedly collected his phone number by asking him to call or flash her so she could save his contact details. She reportedly told him she would call when she was ready to return home.
The rider continued his daily activities without realising that the woman he had transported had subsequently been reported missing.
Days later, while he was with fellow riders at their usual gathering point in Uga, one of his colleagues drew his attention to a Facebook post about a missing girl.
After seeing the photograph, he reportedly recognised Mmesomma and told his colleagues that he had taken her to a location on the day she disappeared.
One of the riders then reportedly passed his phone number to the local security commander.

Information Leads Investigators to Chima’s House
The security commander allegedly contacted the okada rider to confirm his account and asked whether he could identify the place where he had dropped Mmesomma.
The rider agreed to lead him to the location.
According to the narrator, the location was directly in front of Chima’s house. The commander subsequently contacted the police with the information.
The account states that the police obtained a search warrant and took Chima to his residence while conducting a search.
Officers reportedly searched his room but initially found no clear evidence connecting him to Mmesomma’s disappearance. Chima continued to deny knowing what had happened to her.
The search reportedly continued, with officers discovering what the narrator described as bloodstains. Their source was not immediately established.
Investigators then extended the search to the backyard, where they allegedly found a damaged mobile phone.
The phone was reportedly collected as evidence and taken to the police station alongside Chima.
Damaged Phone Allegedly Provides Another Lead
According to the account, investigators removed the SIM card from the damaged phone and discovered that it belonged to Mmesomma.
The narrator described the discovery as a turning point in the investigation.
The account further claims that Chima subsequently admitted to killing Mmesomma following the breakdown of their relationship and agreed to show the police where he had allegedly left her body.
These are serious allegations. Avid Reporters has not independently verified the reported confession, the forensic findings, the recovery of the phone or the circumstances surrounding Mmesomma’s disappearance. The claims should not be treated as established facts without confirmation from the police or other reliable sources.
Investigation Highlights Importance of Community Information
The account illustrates how information from members of a community can potentially assist investigations into missing-person cases.
In this instance, the okada rider reportedly did not initially know that Mmesomma had disappeared. His recognition of her photograph and willingness to share what he remembered provided investigators with a lead they could pursue.
The account also underscores the importance of reporting missing persons promptly, preserving relevant evidence and allowing trained investigators to establish the facts.
