Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has distanced herself from the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign council for the 2027 election, asking the public to disregard reports linking her to the political body.

Abraham addressed the development through her Instagram Story following the circulation of the campaign council list online.
The actress made it clear that she was not part of the campaign council and said she had already decided to remain outside partisan politics.
“I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently, I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee,” she wrote.

How Her Name Appeared on the List
The development came shortly after the release of a list containing the names of 33 entertainers reportedly selected for the Lagos APC Campaign Council.
Abraham’s name appeared alongside established figures from Nigeria’s film and music industries, including Oga Bello, Bukky Wright, Yinka Quadri, Pasuma, Saheed Osupa, Small Doctor and Malaika.
The inclusion generated attention on social media, prompting questions about the actress’s political affiliation and involvement in the 2027 election campaign.
However, Abraham’s subsequent statement indicates that she does not want to be associated with the campaign council.
‘I’m Staying Out of Politics’
Explaining her position, the actress gave a brief but direct reason for rejecting the reported appointment.
“I’m staying out of politics,” she stated.
She further urged members of the public not to attach her name to any campaign committee, reiterating that her decision was not to participate in partisan political activities.
The actress’s response comes as political parties begin preparations and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election, with entertainers and other public figures increasingly featuring in campaign structures.

By publicly rejecting the reported appointment, Abraham has sought to clarify her position before the development could create further speculation about her political allegiance.
